Halloween

So I just realized that I haven't posted any pics on Halloween.
So, here they are. This is when we were trying on the
'costume' a few days before .

We had several ideas, but couldn't decide, until we found the hat.
Then the decision was Easy!

He even had the wrangler butt!

A cowboy ain't nuthin' w/o his horse!

Ain't he the cutest!!

So we finally go trick-or-treating. We drove into Wahoo to visit our Branch President's house. She put plenty of candy in his bucket (Actually it's his Easter basket. Aw, nobody noticed. I didn't want to buy another silly thing to store for another year, especially since we only used it for two houses!) We spent some time chatting with them. Poor Trenton was so ready to go. It was almost like he knew you pick up the candy and go. Go to the next door for more candy. :-) We drove to another friends house and ended up spending a fair amount of time there, like til 9pm. And then we just went home. Two doors and we were done. :-)

It wasn't until the next morning when I realized that we had never fed Trenton dinner! And our friends had even offered us some chili, but Jared and I were fasting so we declined, never once thinking of him! Duh. No wonder he was so interested in his candy! Poor thing!

So we get home and take a few more pics before we put him down.
What is it with boys and trucks? He LOVES to sit in the truck and 'drive it'. It's so fun.

OK, OK. I'm back.

So I logged back on (after I asked Jared what our password was) and saw that my last post was in May. Opps! Sorry. But, I'm back from the land of obsessed and ready to be me again. I tell ya. I had NO idea how big that job really was. If ya wanna know, try taking 60+ girls camping for a week and make it a spiritual experience for them all. Wow, I had no idea how much that would entail. But... it went well and I've heard alot of positive feedback so I'm good with it all.

So now I can be me again. We've been busy with summer fun and vacations. Jared starts school again in another week and life will then become very same'ole same'ole. But I'm cool with that. I'll up load some pics soon of my family reunion and my sister's wedding. Yes, we've been busy. But, we're back! And just to prove it, here's the most recent family pic - with my Grandpa!

He said it!!

So up until last night the only recognizable 'words' that came out of Trenton was "nummy nummy." He also will moo back as us and babble like he's having a full conversation with somebody. But no real words as of yet.

Well, we had lots of friends over for dinner last night. Trenton loved all the extra attention from the adults and all the fun with the other kids. When everyone all left, the three of us crashed on the couch to wind down. Trenton looked out the window and started waving and made sounds just like "bye bye." We looked at each other and started encouraging him to keep saying it. Pretty soon it was an obvious Bye Bye. Woo-Hoo!

But then it gets better... We take him upstairs to take a quick bath, and we play and talk and practice ByeBye and all that. Then Jared says "Trenton, can you say Mama?" He totally looked up at me and said "Mama." Ahhhhhhh! I just melted to the floor! He said mama! I think I'm in love. :-) What an amazing little guy we got! He so wonderful! Just had to share.

Our new place

We move too much. This is our 11th move since we've been married. Egads. BUT... it is SOOOOO nice to be so close to work. Instead of two hours of commuting every day, it's now just 10 mintues. So much better!

So here we are... yes, that's little T right there.

The house is REALLY big. Each rooom is bigger than the front room in the 1 bedroom apartment we just left.
Living room...

...with double pocket doors that lead to the Dining room. Don't you just love our HUGE dining table! Oh, and the box is from a chest freezer that we bought. We cut a 'door' in it with a few windows and Trenton loves his new fort!

Then if you head to the right you go into the kitchen...

There's plenty of room. There's also a huge laundry room, full bath and an office on the main floor. Upstairs has 5 bedrooms and another full bath. Downstairs is unfinished but just as big as the other floors. It's just a bit bigger than our 800 sq ft apartment. :)
And here is the view out the front door. Gotta love the country!

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TRENTON

The first year is already behind us - can you believe it!?! Crazy! It's been a fabulous 12 months with tons to be grateful for!

We had a little birthday party planned for last Saturday but we got snowed out. It started dumping on Friday so we called everyone and canceled. In bad weather an hour is a long way to drive for cake and ice cream. So we made his cake today instead and celebrated just the 3 of us. We took a video of us singing Happy Birthday and him enjoying his first taste of frosting and cake, but I can't get it to upload. I'll keep working on it. But, we also took about a hundred pictures so here comes a picture overload...

Dig in Baby!

I made a red velvet cake (from the box, don't anybody be too impressed.) I figured that red would definitely show up! A friend let me borrow her cake pan that makes a large cup cake.

We took the video first so the first pictures are of him already covered in frosting! Out of about 100 photos I tried to narrow it down...

Isn't that just an angel's face...

You can see his frosting covered hand print on his head

I win!

Sugar rush here we come!

This one's a little fuzzy, but I love it.

Ah yes, I am the greatest!

I would love to know how you would caption this photo!

Well after all of THAT fun... I need a bath!

Last PIcture on the Blanket

After a nice warm bath to wash off all the stickies, we jumped into pajamas 'cause it was almost bedtime and took his 12 month old picture. His last picture on the blanket! How sad. But, in a way it's a good thing, 'cause he sure doesn't lay on his back for very long. Ya gotta be pretty quick with the camera anymore!

Yup, he's officially off the blanket! It's crazy to think that a little person can do that much growing in just 12 short months. Here, his first picture (one month old) for comparison ...

Presents!

Then came the presents. I was surprised how quickly he caught on to unwrapping the gifts. maybe he just liked the ripping part and realized Hey, there's something in there!

Foam letters and numbers for the bath

Duplo. He loved all the noise they made.

He so did not get this concept. Maybe we'll put it away
and re-gift it for Christmas! :-)

The Puppy was his favorite!! It barks and moves as he pulls it. He thinks it's great!

Wow. Has it seriously been a month?!?! Moving sure is time consuming. And now I find it's even more when you have a little junior 'helping'. But we're here, slowly getting unpacked and settling in. So we now live 5 miles out of town of about 300 population. Yes! Just the way we like it. :-) We're about an hour to any good shopping, but the nearest grocery store is just 20-30 minutes away. And we do have a quickstop gas station in town if there ever is a dire need. But I tell you what, we LOVE being so close to work. Jared is sometimes home by 4pm! What a difference! So nice! Anyways... we are alive and doing well. Trenton turns ONE on Monday so stay tuned!...

11 months!  11 months!  Can you believe it?  His year birthday is just around the corner!  I tell ya what, we've never had a better year in our life.  There's nothing better than our Trenton.

(Oh, and yes, those are two little teeth you see there.  He's got two up and two down, Four Teeth!)

Big Disappointment

The loan on the farm did not go through. We found out the Friday before Christmas. (Yes, I'm just getting around to telling you.) We were very upset, obviously. Friday was spent frustrated. Saturday was confused. Sunday was "Well, we gotta move up there some how." So Monday morning I started calling on apartments and houses for rent in a town that's about half way for Jared, cutting the commute in half. Jared said "Call on that 2 story home in the Prague area that I saw the other day." So I looked through all the ads until I found what he was talking about. I called and Jared went up to see it. It's HUGE. 1600 sq ft on the main floor with 1600 up and 1600 in the basement (unfinished.) AND, they're charging $100 LESS than we are currently paying for our 1 bedroom apartment!! Egads! There are 5 bedrooms upstairs with one on the main level, they call that one the office. Everything is hardwood floors except the entry and the stairs (we'll see if we can fix that.) We can paint, too, if we want. And it's only 3 miles from the farm. Which means Jared's commute will be the same: 5 minutes! Oh, that's going to be so nice!

I know, you'd think we'd be more upset about this. Well we were, believe me we were. But I've often looked heavenward and said "God, if you had to give us bad news, you sure sweetened it nicely!" Everyone has the choice to focus on the bad or the good. And we're choosing to hope for the good. Maybe in 6 months or a year, the market will fall even farther and we can pick it up for less... save us 50 grand or more! Who knows?!

So we ARE moving, just not to the farm, just a huge house by the farm. I've got 2 weeks to pack up the house, the big day is Saturday the 24th. Wish me luck, I've never tried to pack with a baby whose gonna want to 'help' me do it!
